Artist's description:

The “Anima Lamina” project consisted in a search for a surface (“lamina”) as a mean of expression of the subconscious (“anima”). Each artwork started with one chosen shape that is continuously repeated until the whole surface is covered. The painting tape is cut in shapes and the paint is spontaneously applied and mixed, adapting the patterns scheme and colour application to the free movement techniques, hence joining the subconscious. With inspirations from nature elements like wind and water and from the geological to the organic world, “Gipsy Skirt” emerges like ultimate feminine readings of universal pagan patterns also found in Roma and Hindu women traditional costumes and Romanian ceramics.
