Artist's description:

The Gherkin, like many other interesting and iconic structures in London can make for quite pedestrian photographs when depicted completely on their own. The key, as with many other things, is to photograph them in context, interacting with their surroundings. I spent a lot of time trying to find an interesting way of photographing the Gherkin until one bright day I happened to stumble across this tiny street, almost an ally way, and there it was. I love the interplay of light and shadow in this picture.
