Part of a series created for a recent gallery group exhibition entitled ‘Seeds’. The exhibition inspired a new series of work: ‘Germination’. The notion of ‘seeds’ and the extraordinary potential within each tiny, seemingly lifeless ovule served as inspiration for this body of work. Whether a seed be literal, figurative or spiritual, the potential for growth is there, but germination must take place...and germination is dependent upon the proper conditions: temperature, water, air, light ... and sometimes darkness.
