This is General le Clerc, the French soldier who led the Allied liberation of Paris in 1944 - and thus the beginning of the end of the Nazi Occupation of France. The painting is done on three panels - each measuring 1 metre square, making the overall size 100 cms wide by 300 cms high or 1 metre x 3 metres.
The painting is for sale to a private buyer, but is available FREE to any suitable bona fide war museum or gallery or any military institution in France.
