I've been working on some images of paths, tracks and roads leading into the landscape and thus extenuating the depth of perspective.
I saw these gates whist out on a sketching day and just loved the scene for some unexplainable reason. It was certainly at least partially to do with the sky and light but there is something else I really enjoy about the scene and suggestion of movement in an otherwise still landscape.
Interestingly I've broken some of the fundamental rules of composition with this artwork but manage to get away with it I think largely due to the weight of colour and narrative created by the gates and track.
