Artist's description:

Thomas Jefferson explained gardening like an orchestra. The trick is to have something going on all the time, just as in a musical piece. The perennial garden blooms all year, but the magic is having something blooming all the time (music for your eyes). When one flower dies, another starts its phase of beauty.

My summer garden is in full bloom and I have been working in plein air as well as finishing the piece in the studio. I am trying to capture the essence of the garden, the play of sunlight in the flowers and the small burst of color that is in both the foreground and background of the plants. This is my favorite time of year to enjoy and find peace in the garden.

sides are painted black, wired and ready to hang.
