This is an ornate Victorian footbridge across the river cut at Bedminster in Bristol utilising a square trellis beam construction hung from suspension structure with similar towers at each end.
The study was created by using a 6x6cm Rolleiflex camera held in a parallel plane to the structure and moved progressively along the length of the bridge with the trellis handrail as a common datum point. All of the trellis beam was captured for the entire length of the bridge from shore to shore.
The viewer is therefore presented with a unique documentation of the main feature of the structure as if traversing the bridge and viewing the trellis beam and the river and landscape seen through and beyond the trellis.
