A patch of Wild Foxgloves, hidden in the woods. Butterflies hover around the pink and purple haze of colour, flitting back and forth. The colour is rich and warm, the skies tones ebbing into evening. An impressionist view of a wild patch of foxgloves. An expressionist frenzy of twisted undergrowth. Painted in an abstract style aimed at suggesting rather than replicating the scene, the initial layers of paint are loose, focusing on colour and line. A chaotic undergrowth is suggested in an abstract expressionist style. Palette knifed impasto floral detail brings a focus and clarity to the abstract work and beautiful, delicate butterflies hover over the flower bells.
