I painted these foxgloves in acrylic ink on a 4cm deep edge canvas.
The foxgloves were in the hedgerow at the time so the artwork is a fairly close up view of the flowers and the surrounding plants.
I used acrylic ink to be able to flood the canvas with layers of transparent wash to keep the painting loose and contemporary. It is a vibrant piece with lots of energy. I poured, splattered and dripped the ink on and in some areas scratched away to create texture.
The side of the canvas is painted in a soft green to compliment the colours in the painting itself and complete the painting. It is ready to hang. The canvas is 60cm x 70cm.
