“In Hinduism and Buddhism there is a beautiful picture of the connectedness of all that is. In these traditions it is said that God Indra tied a net and that every knot in it is a jewel cut into many facets. Now, when there is movement in one jewel, all the other jewels reflect that movement, are changed by the movement they have picked up, and their changed being is in turn mirrored by all the other jewels. Every person, every animal, every plant and every mineral - says tradition - is such a jewel.
