Painted on-site at the Iris Garden of the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum. Painted in oil and iridescent oil on gessoboard, with a layered, textured background of oil over casein paint. Features an iris flower of the variety named "Fortunate Son". The flower petals are painted in shades of deep red, bright red, and pink. Below it is a flower bud in deep purple-black. Shades of blue, lavender, green and purple decorate the textured background.
Comes framed in a 2.5 inch wide wood frame with a mahogany colored finish.
May also be purchased unframed.
