A minimalist cylindrical sculpture of folded copper sheet, composed as an experiment in the folding process that has led me to other designs from jewelry to wall art. This piece is freestanding, and will make a strong if subtle statement on a mantel, shelf, or niche.
The color of the piece with its subtle variegation is purely the result of the multiple reheatings the copper needs in order to keep it soft enough to shape, so the look is very organic, and rewards close examination. The color should be stable and permanent if the piece is kept indoors. If you want to display it outdoors, you should be prepared for it to weather and change its patina with the years.
