Original artwork description:

Reflecting my love of kitsch 60s and 70s interiors, this latest miniature canvas shows a ceramic duck mounted on a wall with a patterned wallpaper effect.

I'd always remembered seeing this style of ceramic duck, usually mounted in a flying formation of three, in the background of TV shows like Coronation Street. Cut to present day, this piece continues an unplanned series of paintings featuring 'things shaped like birds that aren't birds' - a pink plastic flamingo, a rubber duck, and a swan boat, as can be seen in the rest of my shop.

The background is a simple 1970s inspired pattern meant to represent a typical wallpaper of the era, but painted by hand using stencils and Posca paint pens.

The end result is a cute, decorative piece of art that would look great hung in the home of similar lover of kitsch, vintage design. It could also be propped up on a bookcase, as pictured, thanks to its small frame.

It is painted in acrylics on a stretched cotton canvas that's ready to hang, and is signed on the back. I've included a picture of me holding the artwork to show it's relative size.
Size -
5 inches x 5 inches
15cm x 15cm
Roughly 0.5 inch or 1.5 cm thick.

The final picture shows this one alongside my other paintings of a similar size, as they look good grouped together.

Postage will be first class, tracked, and packaged with bubble wrap.

I can also do paintings to order, use the commission button to get in touch.

Materials used:

Acrylic Paint, Posca paint pen, Paintbrush
