Artist's description:

An imaginary scene inspired by the fishing villages of the East Neuk of Fife with their crow step gables, narrow wynds, cobbled streets and colourful buildings. Often you can see people's washing hanging out in their back gardens and fluttering about in a stiff coastal breeze. This painting was inspired by such scenes although I've got a bit carried away with hanging colourful washing all over the place, although I have seen washing hanging out to dry in some odd places in these villages.
