Artist's description:

The fishermen of Inle Lake display amazing dexterity as they use their leg to ‘handle’ their oar, using it to row and steer at the same time. Simultaneously balancing on the other leg as they manoeuvre their baskets, reel in nets or talk on their mobile phones. Some things change, some stay the same.

The contemplation of the fisherman on the left of the triptych initially caught my eye, I still wonder what he was thinking about. Is he stuck in this life, does tradition compel him to fish the lake, what opportunities is he missing in the outside world?

Perhaps I'm just portraying my own emotions in his expression, perhaps he's just thinking 'fish for dinner again tonight, I suppose!'

These images come in one mount as a triptych.
