Original artwork description:

This painting is of an aquarium with a varied fish population including a shark. The fish seem comfortable in their allotted space and apparently are at ease despite the presence of the shark. The shark, too, is placid. Perhaps this is a hope for a peaceful world. Our options are limited; perhaps we can learn to live together.

The picture is a woven watercolor mosaic. It is made from two watercolor pictures of similar subject, each slightly different from the other; one is cut up horizontally and the other vertically. Those strips are woven together. Then, at the interstices they are cut apart. The top layer is lifted off and is Woven Fish Tank with Fish and Shark I; the remaining picture is Woven Fish Tank with Fish and Shark II.
