Artist's description:

That tender moment of reveal for a blush poppy; one of the most sacred feminine blooms in the summer garden.

My photography is turned into many layered artworks which consider colour, light, tone, composition and atmosphere much the same as when I create a painting. In fact, I use painterly skills to adapt and add to photography as deemed necessary in a no-holds-barred approach which is all about conveying a feeling or emotion more so than documenting so-called reality. Graininess, blurring and abstraction are welcomed in the same way as smudged brushmarks are used to embellish a canvas; just so long as the outcome is what I envisioned. The size chosen for each print is suitable to make the most of the image although other size prints are often available if you want to send me an enquiry.

This print has a subtle artist name and logo printed in the bottom right hand corner. It is also signed and numbered on the back.

Giclée printed to Hahnemühle Photo Rag, which makes for super-rich colour reproduction and has a soft fibrous quality similar to watercolour paper. Achival quality printing using Epsom inks.

Materials used:

Hahnemühle Photo Rag 308gsm

First blush (2017)
