Today's Postcard: Fig and cheese. Still life: figs need timing. A friend likened them to peaches, as there is only a one-minute window of perfect ripeness. I'd say pears too. Figs also need looking at reverently, with the minimum of contact, fuss, and paint. I failed threefold. But at least they tasted beautiful together. The cheese is (was) a delicate Pont Gar Blue from near the Afon Towy, by Carmarthen.
