Artist's description:

This small Raku sculpture depicts a fox who has just woken up from a nap, and is still curled in a ball. he shows a state of alertness and naturalness. He was made carefully with Refractory Clay, fired, and then glazed in a Raku fashion. Raku is wonderful as a process since you never really know how the finished result will look. Well, this guy came out fantastic. He possesses his own spirit and charm.

In Japan, foxes are often associated with fertility, as fox are often seen around the rice crop at the time of harvest. I love that an object can contain a charm or intention as a support or helper to persons. In the case you may want to get pregnant that he is a wonderful fellow to have around!

PLEASE NOTE: The actual size of this sculpture is 4 cm x 3.4 cm x 3.4 cm. The minimum dimension is 5 cm so in order to publish I needed to put the 5 cm.

Materials used:

clay, raku glazes
