Artist's description:

Life sized Female Buzzard in patinated foundry Bronze the 6th of the limited edition of 12. This piece sold well at the Royal Academy Summer Open in 2015, so I am now half way through the limited edition.

I made this sculpture for the front view, which is one you would not catch with the naked eye, as it showed the moment between being relaxed and being alert as the birds attention is drawn to her left, with her left wing snapping shut to her side, but the relaxed right side not having caught on yet. The females being bigger than the males, this life sized bird is imposing when you get eye to eye with her. The Art Deco styling is crisp and sharp, much as a Buzzards gaze is, and the lines and angles on her rock reflect the same angles and planes in the bird herself.
