Artist's description:

This painting was inspired by a photo taken about 1920. This city girl was visiting her aunt's farm and was told to feed the chickens. She wore old clothes and a big smile. I found myself smiling while I worked on it.

My using mixed media, ink; encaustic wax, oil glazes, and charcoal for the dark contrast I bring the vintage subject into the 21st century.

This painting needs no framing.

Materials used:

ink, charcoal, encaustic wax, oil paint
