After weeks of rain and low grey clouds the 15th of February was a beautiful day. Snow lay across Dartmoor's hills and the sky shocked with it's vivid blue. Crisp, cold and clear, it was a day to savour.
Using sketches from my daily weather journal I have painted the view towards Princetown from near Holwell. The mixing of acrylic paint for the sky and watercolour for the moor shows how large a shock the blue sky was to our overwintered souls.
This original painting is sold unframed and unmounted so you can decide if you want to crop the image in or leave the ragged edges to show.
