This melancholic, small portrait of a lovely young lady with a tear rolling over her cheek was painted back in 2015 when I was very involved in the investigation on beauty standards and the social pressure around feminine appearances.
The reference photo was made backstage at a high-end fashion show,
a realm that was very familiar for me at that time, as I used to work as a model myself.
The artwork is signed on the front with a small signature,
on the back you will also find the title and a bigger signature.
