Artist's description:

This is the first of a series of 6 paintings from a project called Remote Britain. Together with a photographer and a blogger we traveled around the UK, painting and photographing the remote landscapes.
In May of 2016, I went on a boat tour of The Farne Islands just off the coast of Northumberland.
This piece was inspired by my time sitting on the rocks surrounded by Puffins nesting, and looking out onto the endless battle of the water and the land.
I’ve tried to capture the colour and shapes of this remote place, with particular focus on the pathways of the water through the landscape. I used oil paints and pallet knives.

Materials used:

Oil paint, pallet knife, brushes
