Artist's description:

A shadowy street scene at night. The street lighting is catching the cobbles and turning them gold. An old man is going for his evening stroll and is casting a long shadow. I have painted the cobbled areas in varying shades of gold and copper so that when a light hits the painting they shine and give a wonderful effect.

Framed in a black and charcoal effect Quality Wooden frame. Shadow mounted with a double black border with Artglass Conservation Grade non-reflective glass.

Ink Resist (an old technique which I have tailored to suit my style). My paintings undergo several processes to reach the end result which is unpredictable and quite delightful to create

Ink resist paintings have a unique surface texture. They can be fairly smooth and matte (depending upon how much paint was applied in the first instance) and can appear a little shabby or unrefined. For me this is very appealing and very much the hallmark of this type of painting.

I have been producing Ink Resist paintings for about a year now, although I have been playing with the process on and off for about ten years. It is quite unique. I will be adding more paintings shortly

Materials used:

Artists quality acrylic paint and Indian Ink
