I have always been fascinated by depth in human emotion: what lies beneath the surface and what sort of energy do we send out into the atmosphere. Essentially, this is the first of a series of paintings which will explore how a human's essence can be expressed. This painting presents essence in a romantic form. The bodies of 2 people appear to be merged and melting into one another, their essences have no immediate boundary with each other or with the atmosphere. Originally influenced by a very famous scene from Phantom of the Opera and also one of my favorite paintings: 'The Kiss' by Klimt. Romantic love visually described in a decadent way. Many of my ideas come from dreams. This painting has evolved through many stages, I suppose its evolution has been driven by my subconscious mind.
