This doorway is situated in the old town area of Chania in West Crete. It is one door of a thousand, all with their own character, all with their own stories to tell. This particular doorway is located in a small square - surrounded by a maze of small cobble streets, it is a delight to find this square and walk into the sunlight after being in the high sided, narrow, cool stone streets of the old town. The building of this doorway is not derelict, but extremely run down. As you stand and look at it, you can hear the whispers of all the people who have entered it - and closed the door behind them. Inside, I believe you can see the past.
