My wonderful old house is full of memories. I have a lovely old staircase that gives access right to the top of the house. The treads are worn with time and the passage of many feet, the handrail is worn smooth and when I touch it I wonder at all the people who have done so before down the centuries, their lives and their stories. One day in January the sun was shining low through the little window, the colours were mellow and inviting. I had a feeling I was not alone. The people in this picture are imagined....... or are they ?.......
This picture is sold framed and under glass with a frame that complements the warm colours and enhances the faded elegance of the subject.
