Artist's description:

In my native Venezuela, many people are driven to choose a dangerous lifestyle in crime in order to survive their harsh reality. Some do it for power. Others for the need to live.

In this painting, I uses fantastical characters and a moody palette to reflect on the ideas that move Venezuelans to choose this path. The giants represent the quest for social power, while the characters going up the stairs depict the idea of being changed by the circumstances in our environment.

And on the bottom right corner we see a lonely figure: a kid, looking at these possibilities of what he might become, while wondering what the future holds for him in the land he calls home
