Artist's description:

Staying in the little Lake District village of Chapel Stile for a couple of days in late 2016, I was only a stone's throw from Elterwater. Its a lovely spot with views of the Langdale Pikes in the distance. Rising before dawn on a cold and frosty winter morning, I walked the mile or so from Elterwater village on the footpath round the lake. When I arrived, the lake surface was ruffled by a breeze and I almost gave up hope of a reflection. But just as the sun started to rise and bathe the hillsides in warm light, the wind dropped and I got my shot.
To me this image oozes tranquility but is also optimistic, with the morning light and clear skies providing promise for the day ahead.

Materials used:
