Painted in June 2015 en plein air in the Yorkshire Dales at Littondale from Ellergill Bunk Barn.
The marks are exciting and bold, typical of Lesley Birch's loose, expressive style. This is a chance to buy a collectible piece from this special artist.
Says the artist: "I painted this piece outside the Dales. The air was fresh, the view so peaceful and the sense of greenness was overwhelming. It's the feeling of the place that matters to me and I want to convey this sense of peace in Nature through marks and colour. I love to break down the landscape into the basic abstract shapes and drawing into the painting with pencil and using my palette knife. I'm playing with colour and brush marks to capture a sense of immediacy."
