Elise is a semi-abstract piece, inspired by the lilly ponds we encountered during our stay in Rajasthan and also the work of C. Monet. The piece has been constructed by layering, sanding and glazing, over and over again, to give it a contemporary (yet familiar) edge.
The photographs of the piece you see, are pretty accurate but because of the glazes, I have been unable to capture the layers of glaze (the camera 'sees' through many of the layers' so it actually doesn't look as streaky as this). I really love this piece and am finding it a bit difficult to put up for sale as its got such a 'deep water' feel to it.

This piece is on a box canvas with the sides painted as part of the piece, therefore it does not require framing and comes ready to hang.
