My first plein air painting of 2016. Costa Rica has micro-climates, so everywhere is different. Heredia was sunny when I painted this scene, but when I was finishing the cold breeze catch with me. This is a small country club in one of the most beautiful provinces without sea in Costa Rica.
I started as always, with transparent colors to add shadows and mid values, my focal point is very clear but I wanted to add the cold and sunny atmosphere of the breeze afternoon.
I painted this piece in 5 hours, oil alla prima on canvas panel. I will ship it from Costa Rica, completely dry with a coat of retouch varnish to even the opacity of the oils and will pack it with corner protectors with a carton cover on the front of the painting, inside a manilla envelope with buble interior.
