The sunsets where I live in Bow, East London often look incredible. I think a lot of this is due to light pollution and smog, but I don't mind. Even once the sun has gone down and night has fallen the sky has a weird orange glow to it. I kind of like this though, and I feel that cityscapes like this aren't explored much in landscape painting.
I love countryside scenes like anyone but I've lived in London for 10 years and for me nothing beats the sun setting over a landscape of high rises and tower blocks. The third image shows the actual sunset view from my flat that inspired it. Landscape painting is a bit of a departure for me but I feel that here I've managed to incorporate my usual colourful, graphic style into the new subject.
This is the latest in my series of acrylic paintings on high quality A4 paper. PLEASE NOTE: the painting doesn't come framed, but I've taken photos of it in a black A4 frame for display purposes. So the first image best shows what you will receive. It's signed on the back.
