Artist's description:

My wife is Italian, so we try and spend as much time in Italy each year as we can - tending to go in the summer months when possible. We stayed here in this very picturesque town called Anghiari during July. It's at the top of the Tiber valley and in a very quiet corner of Tuscany. It's 20 minutes from the birthplace of Michelangelo and Sansepolcro where Piero della Francesca lived. Leonardo da Vinci's lost painting, 'The battle of Anghiari', was made here. The town sits on a hill at the top of the valley and has it's own microclimate. In the early mornings the mist sits in the valley before the sun gets too hot and the view is magical as the sun rises behind the town (in this view) making a silhouette of the buildings. It's a paradise.
