Early spring, early morning, early blossoms. Crisp, heavy dew and gorgeous pinky red cherry blossoms in a row by a lane, on a small bank. So I made some sketches, took a couple of photographs and drove home (after I bought the bread, priorities!) Then I set up a canvas and got cracking. This painting is built up with several layers of Michael Harding oil paints, getting gradually more refined but with the brushstrokes still showing side by side.
