Artist's description:

female figure on impressionistic texture-heavy inner city backdrop. this piece made itself, practically.....i was just trying to use old corduroy scraps to make an interesting surface and i barely had some on the canvas before i already saw the city. a nearby sketchbook from years back had this strange and mysterious lady already peering at the city, so viola.....there it was. this style was one i hadn't used before much so wanted to try my hand at it. kind of quirky, but intriguing.

another interesting element is the backside, which was once an led light to battery hook-up. i switched the light out for a different color led with some tape but it eventually fell off. i don't know if this feature would be wanted so i made no effort to permanently attach the led. when lit, some of the buildings' windows would appear occupied.

Materials used:

repurposed pre-fab canvas, acrylic, latex paint, pastels, india ink, paint marker, scraps of fabric and acrylic gesso
