I utilized the concept of the Deus Ex Machina to suggest an element of the divine in my artwork. The mechanic eye, the numbers on the sides of the table, and the reversed perspective were all intended to give the viewer the sense of a divinely-decided lottery. Through abstraction, I wanted to portray the feeling of being left on the outside looking in, unable to comprehend the processes taking place. The classical landscape was chosen to emphasize the contrast between the spiritual and the mundane.
