Artist's description:

A piece about finding solace in reconnecting with nature.
The child finds consolation by listening to the bird's song.
The circles represent sound waves and the song's matrix is based on the universal Om sound which is reaching to the child's ear.
This painting relies on the fact that we are all connected to the life force and that nature is a great healer. When one takes the time to appreciate all the miracles being displayed around us, be a persevering weed trying to merge between a sidewalk crack, we can see how powerful and beautiful life is.

This painting uses mixed media (vintage photos in dye transfer for certain elements such as lettering but bird and child are painted) and transparency techniques so to create a more kineasthetic effect (i.e. sound movement towards the ear has been accentued through textures and lines)

Materials used:

Ink, dye transfer, crackle paste, mortar, gesso, fibers
