Artist's description:

This piece is one of a series that looks at the history of the dust bowl as reason to look harder at the state of our current agriculture. This series uses historic photos of the 1930's and recreates them using grains of wheat, barley, and rice. It is my intent to draw parallels between the ecological degradation of the dirty 30's to current farming methods which do not replenish the soil, and rely on chemical inputs to grow crops.

Materials used:

wheat, barley, rice & adhesive
