What we do, see and experience on social media is what inspired me for this triptych. The bright colors represent the happy, shiny, beautiful digital images on the net. We share a lot of joyful, cute and successful things on Facebook, Instagram and other social platforms. Happy comments come (the positive yellow color), and hateful remarks as soon as some-one dislikes something, or as soon as a general unfair item is shared, strong opinions can change the positive intentions of a post easily. New is not objectively brought to us, but colored, and news of corruption, all kinds of missteps, or very private things are read eagerly. Celebrities have a zillion followers, showing their perfect glamorous lives, their beautiful faces and well shaped bodies, happy moments etc. But this glamour gets dirty quickly. Terrible divorces, drugs and alcohol, compromising snapshots of celebrities come out just as easy. And than the fairytale life (the princesses mint green color)turns out to be bitter, moldy and ugly. Meanwhile we all get carried away, excited and angry (the firy red) about things like elections, about big companies violating our privacy, mistreated animals or tax-scams that come out. We like this discussion, to share our outrage, it is energy, keeps us looking at the continuous digital information stream. We like to share, but when we get to worked up about things we get burnt, overcooked and are left flared. It is an observation of this thing that keeps us busy now every day: social media and internet.
