Usually when I begin a piece of work I have a clear starting point in my mind about what the piece is about. This one is quite different; it began on Christmas Day 2014 as I just really wanted to create, but I didn't have a lot of materials with me at the time (I was away from home). So I began drawing in the colourful inks I had taken with me, and decided to let the inks run away with themselves! A bit like a doodle. The piece was completed in January 2015 once I returned home to my big box of fabrics and tray of Gouache paints which then joined in the party.
One of my relatives said she found it to be a very 'future oriented' piece of work, which is correct because the majority of my artworks have elements of the past and nostalgia attached to them. I've named it after her.
