The model's name is Andreya and the piece began as a charcoal drawing. After the model left, I started to deconstruct the image, soaking it in water and ripping areas apart. I added a sheet of paper below which was dyed using a rich golden pigment. Andreya is originally from Madeira and she has an extremely rich olive skin which became a dominant factor in how this piece evolved . The process of working changed from a literal interpretation of the model to a more kinetic response.
