Artist's description:

A stormy Winter's evening on the Atlantic Coast of Cornwall. Under heavy cloud, big waves rush up the beach to flood over the rocky features.

Standing behind my tripod set up in wet weather gear and chest waders, I was shooting the incoming tide, so needed to keep a very wary eye on the sea. Battered by the wind and watching for the clouds to reveal the setting sun, I waited for the moment when a wave set would give me a foreground cascade with another rearing up behind. I selected a camera setting to give .05 sec to capture the wave's glorious cascade.

As with all my pictures, this image was captured 'in camera', with only minimal refinement in post processing. The colours are faithful to those I witnessed. I hand print my artworks (that are limited to a run of 50) on Hahnemuehle Photo Rag Baryta, one of the finest fine art papers money can buy, using Canon Pixma inks that give bright, faithful colours that will last a lifetime.

Framed in black wood surround with an 'ivory' coloured mount (10cm deep on all sides), the artwork is finished with acrylic gallery 'glass' that sets off the presentation while providing protection from dust and UV light.

Please Note: The main viewing image is watermarked to deter copyright infringement. The actual artwork does not bear this tag.
