Artist's description:

This screen-print is a part of a series based on a Persian epic called ''Book of Kings''.
This scene depicts: Alexander the Conqueror journeys to many lands and witnesses many wonders. He travels in search of the Water of Life, the granter of immortality. He hears tales of an enchanted tree that marks the world’s end, and answers all the questions. He visits the tree, and its trunk prophecies Alexander’s own death.
