This is a very complex painting integrating paint and textures. There are many layers of both in this piece. I began with applying molding paste to the canvas and texturing it with various utensils to give me a variety of patterns. The main figure I kept simple focusing on the flowing lines of the body in motion. I wanted the dancer to be part of the background as much as being the focal point. This dancer likes an audience so I added some admiring faces.
Heavy body acrylics. A final coat of Golden UVLS in gloss protects the colors and the painting.
