Artist's description:

Part of the "Endangered Species of the Mind" series: a litho print that went wrong in the technical process and ended up fuzzy and grey, so I drew over it in Biro and a bit of coloured pencil (orange & green). The Lady depicted is busy developing wings with which to fly away from the soporific world of dying poppies and busy, buzzing insects as the sun sets on her summer: sounds a bit like Bob Carlos Clarkes' poem quote in the last leaf of his book, but I actually used a life drawing I did, not any of his glorious photos of equally glorious women. I would do more of this kind of figure but all the life drawing classes I've been to short of a few at Art College have models who are not exactly enticing to the eye.

Materials used:

Litho ink, biro, coloured pencil
