Possibly one of the greatest ways to travel in the world. It's healthy, environmentally friendly and can even tick the box for social distancing...
This is a drypoint, a form of etching where the image is created by scratching directly onto the plate. Since no acid is needed, the metal isn't dissolved as on an etched plate, but is thrown up on each side of the line, creating a thicker, soft line. This wears down with each successive print, hence the small edition of 9 prints.
I've left ink or polished it off in areas to create the tone - this is the painterly mono printing part of the process. Each handcrafted print is unique and variable and numbered E.V (Edition Variable)
Orders are wrapped in acid-free tissue, flat-packed between two layers of board in a stiffened envelope and dispatched signed and tracked within two days.
If this is a gift and you would like me to wrap it and include a message, just let me know!
Materials used:
somerset Satin paper 250g, zinc plate, Intaglio inks, etching press
