Artist's description:

Add a timeless heirloom to your collection of treasured possessions with this opportunity to commission a custom portrait.
There is just something about the decadent texture and brilliant luminosity of pure pigment suspended in lustrous oil that really brings the subject to life. Using these beautifully unique qualities, I create a stunning portrait that captures the likeness and spirit of your loved one.

About my materials:
When at the easel creating your masterpiece, I use professional grade Gamblin Oil Colors. (Hand Made in the U.S.A., Portland, Oregon to be exact.) and Rosemary & Co brushes, a family owned small business that makes artist brushes by hand in Great Britain. I enjoy painting on hard panels that I prime and sand several times to achieve an ultra smooth touch. These panels not only allow the crisp details of every feature to stand out, but they are incredibly resilient and out perform event the highest of quality stretched canvases over time. Rest assured, your painting is durable and will last for a very long time.

About the Artist
Raised in Alaska, Karen Whitworth received an early dose of inspiration from nature. The raw and incredible beauty of this rugged land created in her a passion to document the world that surrounded her. From wildlife and wildflowers, to towering mountain landscapes, Whitworth pursued the scenes that embodied her home. Though young, she pursued her craft with great persistence and began to develop a recognizable style and portfolio.
After 20 years in Alaska and painting all things wild, Karen and her family embarked on a new adventure. Now residing in the Pacific Northwest, she continues on a new chapter in her career, capturing the human likeness with delicate sensitivity that connects the viewer to the subject on a personal level.
From her home studio in Carnation, Washington Karen creates new work and teaches workshops that often include some form of fine cheese or chocolate. She is also known to travel to beautiful locales to seek inspiration, dine on amazing food, and share her knowledge with fellow artists.
