While driving with friends in the West of Ireland last year, I spotted these two beauties in a nearby field and shot off to photograph them; deaf to the outraged cries of my companions on whom I apparently unleashed a million midges as I went! These ponies were extremely curious and friendly and I am on a promise to return with carrots, since they worked here for free!! The forest was actually elsewhere but that's what's so great about painting, you can have any world you want in it! The painting is very 3 dimensional and vivid and is on modern block canvas painted around the edges so needs no frame.
